Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman voted with Senate Republicans Sunday night to pass a funding measure, marking a major step toward reopening the government. Fetterman was one of eight Senate Democrats to join Republicans in advancing the measure, which includes a stopgap to fund the rest of the government through January 30th. Fetterman has broken with his party to vote in favor of the funding measure all 15 times it's been raised in the Senate during the shutdown. He said after the vote, "It should've never come to this. This was a failure."

A 19-year-old man is dead after being shot to death over the weekend. The unidentified victim was killed late Saturday afternoon in the 200 block of Edward Lane in Catasauqua. This man lives in the neighborhood and says he can't believe what happened. "I'm completely shocked. This is not the type of neighborhood that you ever see or hear anything like this going on," the man said. Authorities are investigating the killing. There is no word of any arrests or what may have prompted the killing.

A teenager is facing DUI charges following a crash in Salisbury Township Sunday morning. Authorities say a 19-year-old veered off the 1500 block of Seidersville Road and slammed into the back of a trailer parked on private property. No injuries were reported.

Authorities are investigating a stabbing in Easton. Police say a man was stabbed on the 600 block of Lehigh Street Saturday afternoon. The victim was not taken to the hospital and is expected to be ok. Anyone with information on the stabbing is asked to contact Easton P-D.

It's a birthday celebration today in Lehigh County. A 250th birthday celebration for the U.S. Marine Corps is planned for this afternoon at the Marine Corps Monument at Cedar Beach Park in Allentown. The celebration, which begins at 4 this afternoon, will feature a ceremony, color guard, bugle rendition of the Marine Corps Hymn, and a cake cutting ceremony.

New Jersey is included in a nationwide baby formula recall after babies in ten states contracted botulism. The FDA is warning parents that 13 babies got sick and needed to be hospitalized after drinking ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula. Infant botulism is a rare illness that can be fatal without immediate medical care, but the FDA says no deaths have been reported. Symptoms include poor feeding, constipation, loss of head control and decreased facial movement which can lead to trouble breathing or respiratory arrest. The impacted states are New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Arizona, California, Illinois, Minnesota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas and Washington. ByHeart Whole Nutrition, which is based in New York, issued a voluntary recall for two different infant formula lots with December 1st, 2026 "use by" dates. Parents are urged to record the code, check the company website and throw the formula out immediately if you've purchased the affected product.

A federal judge has indefinitely delayed New Jersey Congresswoman LaMonica McIver's trial as he considers whether to dismiss assault charges against her. Her trial was scheduled to start today. District Judge Jarnel Semper says today's trial has been postponed indefinitely pending resolution of pretrial motions. Her lawyers have argued that the charges are selective and that she has legislative immunity from the charges. The Democrat has alleged she's targeted by the Trump Administration because she opposes his immigration crackdown. McIver was charged for her alleged actions while officers were arresting Newark Mayor Ras Baraka in May outside an ICE detention center in Newark.

Monday Night Football tonight features the Eagles visiting the Packers. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni says Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love just keeps improving. "He's a really good quarterback. He's made a lot of plays and won a lot of games," Sirianni says. The Eagles are 6-2. Green Bay is 5-2-1.

A former Number One draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers who went on to become a captain for the New Jersey Devils has passed away. The NHL announced Mel Bridgman's passing on Saturday at the age of 70. After spending seven years with the Flyers, Bridgman landed with the Devils and helped mentor several players who went on to develop the club for years to come. He was hired at Ottawa's general manager in 1991, a year before the team began league play.
