Here's what's trending for October 9.

Authorities are releasing more information about the moments leading up to a shooting that injured two state troopers in Franklin County Wednesday night. State Police said the troopers were pursuing a vehicle in connection to retail theft until the vehicle was stopped by spike strips on I-81. The department said two female suspects exited the vehicle and complied with troopers, but a male suspect started shooting. The troopers are in critical and serious condition, while the male suspect was killed by return fire.

Governor Josh Shapiro is asking for prayers for the two Pennsylvania State Troopers who were shot. The governor posted a statement on social media after the shooting in Franklin County Wednesday night. Shapiro said "Pennsylvania's law enforcement officers are the very best of us, running towards danger every day to keep our communities safe." The troopers are in the hospital in critical and serious condition.

A Whitehall Township man has been found guilty in the 2018 murder of a man in Bethlehem. A jury has convicted Zahmire Welcome of first degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Tyrell Holmes, who was stabbed and then set on fire while he was still alive outside the Parkhurst apartments. The jury could not agree on a verdict on four other charges against Welcome and the judge declared a mistrial on those charges as a result. Two other men previously pleaded guilty to their roles in the killing, while a third was convicted earlier this year. All were members of a gang known as "Money Rules Everything."

Route 309 is open again in Lehigh County after a crash involving an 18-wheeler. Authorities say a tractor-trailer collided with another vehicle in Heidelberg Township yesterday afternoon, causing the truck to jack-knife and hit a utility pole. The route was closed for several hours while crews cleared up the scene. No injuries have been reported.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday is monitoring last month's surprise closures of Iron Hill Brewery locations across the Commonwealth, including at the Lehigh Valley Mall. Sunday is advising Pennsylvania consumers who bought unused Iron Hill gift cards to dispute those purchases with their credit card company and consider filing a complaint with the state Bureau of Consumer Protection. On September 25, Iron Hill Brewery announced the sudden closure of all of its restaurant locations and subsequently filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

It was just 80 degrees the other day. Tonight, Accu-Weather's Joe Lundberg is talking about a likely frost. "If you have plants and want to extend their life, bring them inside or cover them because it's going to be that cold," Lundberg says. There's a Frost Advisory in place for late tonight in the Lehigh Valley and a Frost Warning in place for the Poconos.

A former wide receiver for Penn State is free on $75,000 bail after being arraigned on several charges Wednesday morning in Bradford County. 24-year-old Julian Fleming is charged with being under the influence when he crashed his ATV back in spring. Fleming's girlfriend, Alyssa Boyd, was killed in the crash that happened in Columbia Township, north of Troy. Investigators say the two were heading north on Painter Lick Lane when a deer jumped into the road.

Starting in the spring of next year you'll be able to go glamping in several Pennsylvania state parks. Eight parks will feature luxurious glamping tents, complete with a fridge, two beds and other amenities. Anne Ryan with the Pennsylvania Tourism Office thinks it'll be great for nearby businesses. "34 percent of new campers are choosing glamping as their entry point to camping. They'll bike our trails. They eat at our farm-to-table restaurants, visit our breweries and our coffee roasters," Ryan says.

Food and grocery delivery service DoorDash is using order data from last year to predict what candies might end up in Trick-or-Treat bags this Halloween. The company has put together a map showing the most popular candies in every U.S. state from last October. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups were the most-ordered treat across Pennsylvania, and across the nation overall, taking the top spot in a total of 14 states.

Personal attacks mixed with policy discussions in the second and final debate between the candidates running to be New Jersey's next governor -- former Republican Assemblyman Jack Ciatterelli and Democratic Congresswoman Mikie Sherill. Most of the debate centered on local issues, such as affordability, as well as national topics, such as the federal government shutdown. Sherrill tried to tie Ciatterelli to President Trump and the shutdown but Ciatterelli said he would help New Jersey enjoy a positive relationship with the White House. For his part, Ciatterelli repeatedly raised the issue of Sherill's connection to a cheating scandal while she attended the Naval Academy. Sherrill did not walk with her 1994 graduating class because she refused to turn in classmates who were involved in the scandal. Sherrill herself was never charged with cheating. Sherill also accused Ciatterelli of profiting from the opioid crisis through a medical publishing company the former assemblyman owned that promoted opioids for treatment of chronic pain. Ciatterelli sold the company in 2017.

A coastal storm packing winds up to 60 miles an hour, heavy rain and tidal flooding is forecast to hit New Jersey this weekend. The worst of the storm is expected to hit the Jersey Shore with up to four inches of rain and potentially significant beach erosion. The storm is projected to develop Saturday night with the strongest winds and heaviest rains sweeping across New Jersey on Sunday and Monday. Moderate and potentially major coastal flooding is forecast, especially along the Jersey Shore and Delaware bay.

An 8-2 win over the Dodgers Wednesday night keeps the Phillies season alive. Aaron Nola started for the Phillies and pitched two scoreless innings before being replaced by Ranger Suarez. Nola says he'll do anything to help the team win. "I knew what the situation was and I was excited to watch Ranger go out and dominate for those five innings and kept us in the game until we exploded with the bats," Nola says. The Phillies trail the best-of-five series 2-1. Game four is tonight in Los Angeles.
