Police in Wilson are looking for 20-year-old Frandy Almanzar. After allegedly attacking his brother with a hammer earlier in the day Saturday, Almanzar is accused of shooting at a moving car later that day. A woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, lives in the neighborhood and says, "I was out here with my family members talking and we heard two shots. Our kids were outside playing with their bikes and we to tell them to come inside." Almanzar reportedly knew the four occupants of the car he allegedly shot at. Nobody was hurt, however a pair of homes and a parked car were hit by the gunfire just after 4:30 Saturday afternoon.
Police are searching for a woman who reportedly threatened people with a weapon at a state park. Authorities say the woman brandished what appeared to be a handgun at people visiting Hickory Run State Park in Carbon County yesterday afternoon. Nobody was injured. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Carbon County authorities.
Pennsylvania State Police say a woman was murdered in Frackville over the weekend. Frackville Borough Police responded to a home on South Center Street for a report of a female gunshot victim just after midnight Saturday morning. They found 55-year-old Natalie Peleschak dead with multiple gunshot wounds. They also found 56-year-old Andrew Peleschak, taking him into custody without incident, and airlifting him to Geisinger Medical Center with unspecified injuries. The Schuylkill County Coroner has ruled Natalie Peleschak's death a homicide. It's unclear what led to the shooting.
The theme is set for the 2026 Pennsylvania Farm Show. Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding made the announcement. "I'm proud to stand along with this team as our partners celebrating the theme of Growing a Nation," Redding says. "Growing a Nation" was chosen in honor of the country's 250th anniversary next year. The 2026 farm show will run from January 10th through the 17th.
The Eagles are losers for the first time this season. The Eagles coughed up a 17-3 fourth quarter lead and lost to Denver 21-17. Quarterback Jalen Hurts says they have to figure out what went wrong and correct it. "We'll go back and learn from this. Take ownership for the things we can control and look into our process and our system and see what needs to be reset and what doesn't need to be reset and continue to press forward," Hurts said. There isn't a lot of time to do that. The Eagles visit the Giants on Thursday Night Football this week.
Phillies centerfielder Harrison Bader had to leave game one with a groin injury. Testing showed no major strain or tear and Bader says he'll do everything he can to be in the lineup for tonight's game two against the Dodgers. "If there's any chance in hell I can play, you better believe I'm going to be in there," Bader says. The Phillies trail the series 1-0 after a 5-3 loss Saturday night. First pitch tonight is at 6:08.
