An Emmaus man died Sunday afternoon after what's being called a police incident in South Whitehall Township. The 45-year-old man, who has not been publicly identified, died just before 3pm after an incident of some sort at the Weis Markets in the Crest Plaza Shopping Center. An autopsy is scheduled for today. So far, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s office is only confirming that their office is investigating the incident with South Whitehall police and the coroner’s office.

Perhaps the greatest Lehigh Valley high school basketball player ever has died. Catasauqua High School legend Larry Miller died over the weekend while in hospice care at Holy Family Senior Living in Bethlehem. After starring at Catasauqua High, Miller ended up going to North Carolina, where he continued to star. In 1968, Miller was named to the All-America team alongside future hall of famers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Pete Maravich, Wes Unseld and Elvin Hayes. Miller ended up playing seven season in the ABA, averaging nearly 14 points a game. Miller led Catty to three district championships and was inducted into both the District 11 Hall of Fame and the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. Larry Miller was 79.

More than 1300 Easton residents are still without power after a Monday outage. The city posed on social media that an outage happened on South Side on Monday morning, and many homes and businesses were without power. Residents are asked to avoid the intersection of Williams and Davis streets. Additionally, some intersections may not have working traffic signals. At its peak, Met-Ed reported 2,435 customers without power in the city as of about 11:45 Monday morning. The company said the cause of the outage is pending investigation. Power is estimated to be restored by 1:30 p.m.

Life was not business as usual in West Bethlehem Monday after a bear was spotted roaming the streets there. One man says it made for some interesting moments. "I hopped on my bicycle really quick and went into the alley. I figured it was probably scared and sure enough there it was. It was really neat. It made my day," the man said. The bear's presence also complicated dismissal at Nitschmann Middle School students. The school sent out an email , notifying parents of a bear in the area and recommending that they pick up their kids who usually walk home.

Charges are being filed against the mother of a baby girl whose father was recently charged with assaulting the child. The child was just 27-days-old when she was taken to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital in February after reportedly suffering a blunt-force trauma injury to the head. The victim's father was arrested on child abuse charges soon after she was admitted to the hospital. The child's mother -- 26-year-old Stephanie Graul -- is now charged as a conspirator on counts of aggravated assault and child endangerment.

The Penn State Board of Trustees will meet later this week to discuss the recommendation to close up to a dozen commonwealth campuses. The board is set to review the recommendation on Thursday in what was initially scheduled as a public meeting but is now an executive session. The seven largest commonwealth campuses, including Penn State Lehigh Valley, will remain open. Monday, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported the Dubois, Fayette, Mont Alto, New Kensington, Shenango, Wilkes-Barre and York campuses are on the chopping block.

UPS is preparing to close its distribution hub in Stroud Township. The move is part of a larger reduction on the part of the package carrier that has recently said they will be cutting close to 20-thousand staffers from its workforce this year. The Stroud Township facility will shut down for good on Friday. UPS says they will offer other positions to as many impacted employees as possible.

A New York City man will spend more than three years in prison for stealing almost a million dollars meant to feed hungry Pennsylvanians. Federal officials said Darrell Devonish's non-profit company Rebuilding Better Communities received over a million dollars from the Pennsylvania Department of Education to benefit the Child and Adult Care Food Program and Summer Food Service Program. However, prosecutors said he spent almost 900 thousand of those funds to fuel his lavish lifestyle, including jewelry and vehicle purchases. Devonish was recently sentenced to 41 months behind bars for wire fraud and money laundering.

The Dallas Mavericks won the NBA Draft Lottery Monday night. The Philadelphia 76ers had a little bit of luck as they moved up from the fifth draft slot to the third overall draft pick.
