It appears a proposed stadium for the Executive Education Academy Charter School will be built and with the blessings of Lehigh Valley IronPigs ownership. The school wants to build a 4100-seat multisport stadium above the parking lot behind the school, which is used by the IronPigs for parking on game days. Initially, IronPigs owner Joe Finley had reservations about losing some parking, but now says his team and the school have an agreement in principle on all issues. Construction could begin on the stadium this fall after the IronPigs’ season ends, with a potential opening in 2026 or ’27.
Dane Kulak says when he and his cousin, Ellie DeCheser, got off the school bus in Washington Township one day last month, they saw a growing brush fire. "It spread very fast because all the leaves were burning up. There were a lot of flames," the teen said. When Dan and Ellie ran to their neighbor's house, which was threatened by the fire, they found Louis Capozollo laying in a pile of ash. Capozollo says he had fallen while rushing to retrieve water to put out the fire. He says the teens probably saved his life. "I had a few burns. I have some on my legs still. My face is all there again," Capozollo says. Dane and Ellie were honored for their bravery Wednesday by Washington Township officials.

We're in the middle of April, but don't tell that to Mother Nature. "At the lower elevations, we won't have to worry about anything but rain. But the higher elevations, particularly up in the Poconos, it can come down enough it flips over to some wet snow. There could be a fresh covering to an inch there overnight tonight," says Accu-Weather's Joe Lundberg. He says a little more snow might fall there Friday night into Saturday morning.
Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman is urging the Trump Administration to let a rule allowing Medicare and Medicaid to cover high demand anti-obesity drugs move forward. In an op-ed piece for the New York Times, Fetterman revealed he is taking Mounjaro, one of the medications that would have covered by the healthcare programs under a rule proposed by the Biden Administration. The Trump Administration announced last week that it would not finalize the rule, a decision Fetterman is asking them to reconsider. The Democrat says Mounjaro has made a "significant impact" on his overall health, and believes expanding coverage of those medications would give "millions of Americans a real shot at healthier lives."

A Republican assemblyman from Ocean is pushing a bill that would ban remote work policies across the state. The bill comes as the state's Civil Service Commission approved a proposal yesterday to let employees continue to telework. Assemblyman Brian Rumpf of the Assembly Budget Committee says he does not believe reports that employees working from home are more productive. The Ocean lawmaker says taxpayers deserve a government that shows up and respects their money.
