AEROSMITH: Saxy Kin

Aerosmith have released another song off their Legendary Collector’s Edition reissue of their 1973 self-titled debut, which will be out Friday. It's a live version of "Mama Kin" recorded at Paul’s Mall in Boston on March 20, 1973, two months after the album's release, complete with a guest saxophone player who does a solo. In December 1994, Aerosmith opened up the Mama Kin Music Hall in their hometown of Boston, and sold their interest in it five years later, in 1999. Steven Tyler has a tattoo on his arm with the phrase "Ma' Kin." He got it when the band was writing its first album because he had so much confidence in the song. Tyler and Joe Perry have often said that Tyler's arm was too thin to fit the whole title.

The Legendary Collector’s Edition contains the original album remastered on 180-gram clear vinyl, a new 2024 mix pressed on 180g translucent red vinyl, a performance of most of the album and a few other songs from Paul’s Mall on 180g black vinyl. There's also a host of recently unearthed and unheard studio tracks on 180g black vinyl, and an exclusive clear UV cloud-effect 12” vinyl with “Dream On” (2024 Remaster) and “Dream On” (2024 Mix) placed atop a printed sky-blue slipmat. It also contains stickers, a poster, and a hardcover book with never-before-seen photos and new interviews with all five original members as well as comments from Dolly Parton, Slash, Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains, Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, Sully Erna of

Godsmack, and others. There are also two fanpack editions that get you a satin bomber jacket and t-shirt, as well as versions with all the music on CD. Among the studio bonus tracks are:

  • "Train Kept A Rollin'" (Session Take)
  • "Make It" (Rehearsal and Alternate Take)
  • "Write Me a Letter" (Alternate Take)
  • "Harmonica Bass Jam Jelly" (Session Take)
  • "Joined at the Hip" (Aerojam)

The previous release from the Legendary Collector’s Edition reissue was "Walkin' the Dog," also from Paul’s Mall in Boston. You can find it on YouTube.

"I know it's expensive -- I own a couple of bars there -- and I go in my own bar and I go, 'What?! I just had a margarita. What do you mean? I didn't have a dinner with it.' But unfortunately that's Vegas. But, it really is a great place to go and party and see a show at all of the residency venues. They're all great. They've got great sound, great seating. Anything you want to see, anyplace in the world you want to eat, they got that restaurant right in Las Vegas to. You don't have to go to Italy no more. You don't have to go to France. You don't even have to go to Cabo. You can go to the Cabo Wabo in Vegas. The food's just as good." NINE INCH NAILS: Trent Clarifies Touring Comments

Trent Reznor used the last stop on Nine Inch Nails Peel It Back tour to clarify his comments about future touring. Back on February 27th during a stop in Tulsa, Oklahoma Reznor told the audience, “I don’t know if we’re going to be touring anymore after this, but I’m proud of the show we’re doing right now. And I’m grateful that you’ve chosen to spend your evening with us tonight." Monday night in Sacramento, California before playing the song "Burn" Reznor

told the audience, "I think I said something the other day that then got misconstrued into something that is not intentionally necessarily true. What I said was, this is the last show of this tour, and we don't have any shows booked, and we don't have any plans to book any shows any time in the future so far. That doesn't mean we may not tour again. "We may tour again. It won't be next month, it won't be this year. I never said we were intentionally stopping, and I never meant that. But, to be truthful, we didn't tour for a while before this tour because, frankly, I didn't know if we could do it well, and if it still mattered, and if really feel like we had something to say. And the combination of this band, and this crew, and a lot of hard work, and we put on a show that I'm really proud of." He concluded, "What we're going to do is work on some new music, and make some new [stuff]. And if we feel inspired, and if we feel we can beat this [show], we'll see you again. And I hope to see you again, and I hope you come see us if we do."

OASIS: Doc Needs a Bit of Editing

The documentary about the Oasis reunion needs a few more passes in the editing room.

Producer Steven Knight told Project Big Screen that “it’s phenomenal. We’ve got it down to four hours, so we’ve gotta get it down to [a shorter runtime].” Knight added that "it’s a documentary with a plot, do you know what I mean? It’s actually got a story. And then we’ve expanded it … you’ll see when you see it." "It’s been great, and they’re great. I interviewed [the Gallagher brothers], and they’re just one quote after another. They’re just so funny."

Famous Phone Number Now Used For Cancer Support

The Cancer Support Community is using a new yet familiar number for its support line. The new number is CSC-867-5309, and fans of the 1981 Tommy Tutone hit, "867-5309/Jenny," are likely to catch the reference. Tommy Tutone's [[ too-tone ]] lead singer said the band would not have "imagined that number would still be stuck in people's heads decades later," but expressed that CSC's use of the number is "incredibly meaningful." The line provides information, support and advice from trained specialists to people affected by cancer, and securing the number came as part of a joint effort by CSC, Gilda's Club locations and Klick Health.
