She-Hulk's 6-Foot-5 On-Set VFX Stand-In

The title character in Marvel's She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series on Disney+ is a combination of CGI and a motion-capture performance from star Tatiana Maslany. The debate is still raging as to the quality of the effects, and many fans contend that the show should just be using a second, more muscular actress in green makeup...kind of like Lou Ferrigno in the '70s Hulk TV series.

According to The Direct, there's actually some of that in the mix. Maliah Arrayah is a 6' 5" model who served as the on-set reference for the VFX team. She worked on the production in green makeup, wig, muscle suit, and costumes to match those She-Hulk wears in each scene. The goal being to give digital artists reference photos and video of how the superhero attorney's body, hair, and wardrobe should interact with lighting and other conditions in various settings.

Marvel usually likes to save these reveals for their own behind-the-scenes docs, but Arrayah is sharing photos and videos from the process on her Instagram. Check out some of those below.
