The Phillies took game 1 from Nationals 4-2 on Monday; The Phillies & Nationals played game 2 of 4 game series on Tuesday Night. Cole Hamels vs. Taylor Jordan was the pitching matchup. Charlie Manuel keep the same lineup from last night game with Ben Revere in leadoff, Jimmy Rollins Batting 2nd, Chase Utley batting 3rd, Darin Ruf bats 7th & plays 1st base, Carlos Ruiz got start behind the plate 
The first runs of game came in the Top of 2nd inning when Nationals Jayson Werth hits solo home run to for a early 1-0 lead. The Phillies would respond in the 4th inning when Domonic Brown hits single to center scoring Chase Utley to tie the game at 1. The Phillies would add additional runs in the 6th inning when Chase Utley reaches on a force attempt, throwing error by first baseman Adam LaRoche which scored Ben Revere to give the Phillies a 2-1 lead, then the big blow happens when Michael Young doubles to center scoring Jimmy Rollins & Chase Utley for a 3-1 Phillies lead, on the play, Michael Young gets thrown out at 3rd by Bryce Harper for 1st out of 6th inning. Cole Hamels was dealing the entire night, the turning point of the game happens in the 8th inning when the Nationals load the bases, Manager Charlie Manuel comes out, a lot of people were thing that Hamels night was over, Manuel would leave Hamels in the game & in the process Strikes out Ryan Zimmerman & get Jayson Werth to fly out to end 8th inning without any damage done. Hamels night was over, going 9 innings, 6 hits, 1 run, 4 strikeouts on 110 Pitches. Antonio Bastardo comes in to pitch the 9th inning; The Nationals Wilson Ramos hits a double scoring Anthony Rendon to make it a 4-2 Phillies lead in 9th inning, the game ends when Scott Hairston pops out to Chase Utley. Phillies win 4-2, Bastardo gets the save & Hamels picks up his 4th win of season.

National’s pitcher Taylor Jordan went 5.2 innings, 8 hits, 4 runs, 2 strikeouts on 89 pitches. The Phillies have won 3 straight games in row; Phillies have won 4 of 5 on this 10 game home stand to be 1 game back of .500 on the season. Game 3 of 4 game series continues on Wednesday at 7:05 PM when the Phillies send Cliff Lee to take on Nationals Gio Gonzales.
