After going 4-3 on 7 game west coast trip, the Phillies opened a 2 game series with the Cleveland Indians from Citizens Bank Park. The last time the Phillies played the Indians was the last week in April & they got blasted in the 2 games out in Cleveland getting outscored a combined 20-2 in those games. The scheduled pitching matchup was Jonathan Pettibone vs. Indians Scott Kazmir. Charlie Manuel changed the lineup. Kevin Frandsen got the start at 2nd base. Jimmy Rollins was back in the leadoff role; Michael Young bats 3rd.  

Phillies Pitcher Jonathan Pettibone first pitch to start the game to Michael Bourn was a strike. The first runs of game came in the bottom of 1st inning when Phillies Kevin Frandsen hits a solo homerun for a 1-0 lead. The Indians get on the board in the top of 2nd inning when Michael Brantley hits a single to center scoring Nick Swisher & Carlos Santana for a 2-1 Indians lead. The Phillies responded in the bottom of 4th inning when John Mayberry hits a double to left scoring Domonic Brown & Carlos Ruiz for a 3-2 lead. The Phillies add another run in the bottom of 6th inning when Domonic Brown hits a solo home run for a 4-2 lead. The Phillies would add some insurance runs in the bottom of 8th inning when John Mayberry singles to center scoring Carlos Ruiz for a 5-2 lead. Freddy Galvis comes in & pinch hit for Kevin Frandsen & hits a single scoring John Mayberry for a 6-2 lead. Jonathan Papelbon comes in & throws 6 pitches to end the game; Phillies beat Indians 6-2.

Phillies starter Jonathan Pettibone went 6.2 innings, 4 hits, 2 runs, 3 strikeouts on 92 pitches. The Phillies turn to Cole Hamels on Wednesday Afternoon start at 1:05 PM
